We’ve got two superstars to feature this time! Michelle and Bristol Hannah both signed up for the CFM On-Ramp in May of 2021. They have been committed and dedicated to their fitness journey. We are so fortunate to have them as part of our community. Enjoy getting to know more about them!
What do you do for a living?
Bristol: I’m in 8th grade at Pelham Ridge Middle School and play Volleyball
Michelle: Liquor Sales Rep for United Johnson Brothers of Alabama
Where are you from originally?
Bristol: Alabama
Michelle: Pittsburgh, PA
How did you hear about CrossFit, and what was your first workout?
Bristol: Played volleyball with Kayden [Rodgers] and heard Mrs. Jacki talk about it!
Michelle: Saw Jacki at Volleyball tournaments and wanted arms like hers!
How many days do you CrossFit? What classes do you normally attend?
Bristol: Try to make 2 times a week at 4 o clock class but have to coordinate around volleyball practice, school and when my mom can get me there
Michelle: Used to be religious about 3 days a week for the 8:30 class, but now try to coordinate around work and trying to get Bristol there
Favorite CrossFit movement/workout?
Bristol: Back squats
Michelle: Bench Press and box jumps although I’m not very good at them [Editor’s note: False. Fiction. Michelle is perfectly proficient at bench press and box jumps]
Least favorite movement/workout?
Bristol: Front Squats
Michelle: Burpees
What motivates you/keeps you coming back to CrossFit Mudtown?
Bristol: The music
Michelle: The coaches and having a written workout
Most embarrassing/funniest gym moment?
Bristol: Falling off the box while doing box jumps
Michelle: Watching Bristol fall off the box doing box jumps!
Favorite thing about Birmingham?
Bristol: The volleyball teams
Michelle: Being around family
What accomplishment are you most proud of (outside and inside of the gym)?
Bristol: Back squatting 95 pounds and my vertical getting better
Michelle: Getting my old butt back in shape and outside of the gym, my kids are my greatest accomplishment
What is your favorite meal?
Bristol: Chicken and broccoli casserole
Michelle: Rib Eye Steak and grilled veggies
What are some of your interests outside of the gym?
Bristol: Volleyball (beach and court)
Michelle: Well at this point in my life, CrossFit is what I get to do for me; the rest of the time is spent driving kids around to practices
What is one thing you’re working on?
Bristol: To front squat 65 pounds
Michelle: To start making more than 1 workout a week again
Do you have a hidden talent?
Bristol: Cooking [How about another editor’s note? Bristol just won the Shelby County Cook Off for the Dairy category with her Turtle Cheesecake!]
Michelle: Not that I can think of
Tell us a fun/interesting fact not many people know about you:
Bristol: I am really funny and would spend every waking minute on the volleyball court if I could whether in the sand or on the court!
Michelle: I worked in Intelligence for the USAF for a fighter Squadron and got to fly in a F-16
